Thank you for taking the time to read this special letter I have written for you. I have a great burden that I wish to convey to you regarding the importance of reaching the lost.
In 2011 I wrote the book, Signs of the Coming Messiah in This Generation with a deep and genuine desire to share the numerous prophetic facets and signs that were being fulfilled indicating that the coming of Jesus Christ is truly near.
Recently, more than ever, I feel the burden of His coming is being translated to a serious need to harvest the lost before that dreadful day of the Lord. Because of this deep burden, I labor to believe that Jesus can come any day now. It is as though I’m hearing the echo of one of the greatest prophet that ever lived, John the Baptist, declaring that we all need to believe that Jesus can come any day now. I can almost hear John echoing these words of Jesus….
“Now learn the parable from the fig tree (referring to Israel); When its branch has already become tender, and puts forth leaves (the rebirth of the nation of Israel), you know that summer is near (referring to the second coming of Christ). So you also, when you see these things happening, know that it is near (the Day of the Lord) – at the doors! (really close) Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things (endtime events) take place.” Mark 13: 28-30.
Most all Biblical scholars interpret the “fig tree” as a symbol of Israel. Since its rebirth as a nation took place once again on May 14, 1948, Jesus specifically alludes that His 2nd coming is “right at the door”. One of my greatest interests is to understand what Jesus meant when He said “this generation” would not pass away before that great Day of the Lord. I personally believe we are the generation that will see these very things Jesus is alluding to.
Yet, it is a labor to believe Jesus could come any day now because the enemy is always attempting to defuse the reality of this truth. It’s all too easy for all of us, including myself, to say something akin to which the Apostle Peter warned us about….
“Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” 2 Peter 3:4, alluding the fact that we lose heart in the Lord’s return, leading us to slumber, apathy and a lack of watchfullness that the Lord warns against.
I ask all, just not church leaders, to become involved in what I am hoping and praying will be the greatest harvest before the return of Jesus. It is so important.
I hope you will take advantage of some of the modalities that we are focusing on in awakening the lost. Let me state for the record, I do not promote the modalities that are presented in this website as the only means to effectively communicate the Gospel. The Lord spoke to my heart years ago that any means His children employ to share the truth and love of Jesus is so precious to Him. We all have our specific gifting and preferences in this regard. Whether it’s face to face evangelism, servant based evangelism, relationship evangelism or any type of evangelism that shares Jesus with the lost is valuable, especially to Him.
I must admit, I have a gifting and desire to share Jesus by the evidence and discoveries that now exists to prove Him. He used the antichrist educational system I went through and inherent intellectualism I personally was proud of before I was born again to now help defuse the false suppositions of others who believe as I once did.
Lastly, I am not ashamed to share with you that I do have a fear of witnessing. My greatest fear is direct face to face evangelism. Although the Holy Spirit has thankfully given me greater boldness, it’s still very difficult for me to just to go up to somebody and present Jesus face to face (I have spoken to others who love that style of outreach – all the blessings to them!). How blessed I was when I found out tract distribution in the manner of Tract-A-Thon was a modality I felt much more comfortable to perform and with confidence. Plus, it’s so quick and efficient. Praise the Lord!
My hope for you, whether as a church leader or sole individual, is that you will consider some manner of becoming involved in sharing Jesus for those who are without Him. It is so important to Jesus. And don’t forget, we are closer to Jesus’ coming back for His church than ever in the history of mankind. Blessings to you!
“When preaching and private talk are not available, you need to have a tract ready….a touching Gospel tract may be the seed of eternal life. Therefore, do not go out without your tracts.” Charles Spurgeon
